My experience was average. I ordered the hot ham and cheese, the food was fair, nothing special, but not bad either. It was served on fresh french bread which was pretty good. The chai tea latte was good and hot. The restaurant was quite busy around lunch. Maybe some of their other dishes are better. Don't order the fruit as a side unless you want grapes, apples and oranges.

Absolutely delicious and loved this place in the heart of Lexington on the main street. The food was fresh, well prepared, good ingredients, and delicious. Compliments to the chef and staff that walked me through the rich history of the restaurant. It started out as a college hangout and dive for a different crowd than the norm. The setting is in a old building setting that you can tell has rich history. You will also find local art work on the walls that give it a nice touch. Try them out you won't be disappointed. My rating for this place is 10/10.

Just as good under new ownership who took over last year. Recently added dinner hours Thursday to Saturday. Fresh, healthy and creative food for sure. Alfalfa potatoes with great coffee accompanied the Popeye omelette with impeccable service.

Went around 2PM and there wasn't a crowd. Service was fine, but the food is just average. Pancakes themselves were bland and tasted a bit different; I still prefer Denny's or IHOP. The eggs and sausage were good. I'd never had cheesy grits before, but it seemed like regular grits with just a sprinkle of cheese on top. For $13.99 I don't think it was worth it, especially when you can get a similar meal for a third of the price at Denny's.

Alfalfa is one of the most unique restaurants in Lexington. It is located downtown and has a wonderful urban coffee house type atmosphere. However, the star attraction is the quality of the food. Everything is locally sourced, the menu has a wide variety of items (including the wonderful Sunday brunch menu that has become an after church tradition for my daughter and me each week), and the recipes and seasonings are simply delicious. Do yourself a favor and skip cookie cutter franchises for a unique Lexington experience.

The food was SO good! I am VERY PICKY about eating out and was VERY pleased with the food today! For the portion size and quality of the food the prices were very affordable! The staff was all so pleasant, especially Amelia and Grace who helped us out!! We will be going back for sure!! Thank you for a wonderful brunch this afternoon!

Went here for breakfast on a cold morning. It is obviously a popular breakfast joint judging by the number of patrons. We were lucky to get a table. This is not the best joint for a hot breakfast. The coffee was lukewarm. I got the Farmer's Market Omelet. It was cold when it got to me albeit delicious. The Alfafries are not seasoned but with a little salt, they are palatable. One can have cocktails and beer as well. The drinks menu has an extensive variety of local brews. I'll be back to sample this. There are lunch and dinner options as well, though not everyday. Check online before you go.

Loved it here! I had dinner here with 2 old friends and it was a great environment. Casual, not too loud and the food was great. I had the special of vegan green coconut curry. It was delicious! I just wish I hadn't eaten it all so I could have had leftovers the following day! This was a dinner special but would be a great addition to their regular menu. It had the perfect amount of spice to curry to vegetable to rice ratio. My friends had the hot brown and the red beans and rice with sausage. I really appreciate local restaurants that support the community and have plenty of vegan options as well as meat options! It's a win win!

Great experience every times I’ve been. The older building has great lighting, adding to the ambiance. The options for vegetarians and vegans is much more extensive than most other restaurants in Lexington. The connection to the local art scene in one of my favorite parts, the art on the wall is constantly rotating allowing lime light for many artists in the area.

I have great memories of Afalfa when I was in school at Kentucky 40 years ago, do had to try it again on my recent visit. the downtown location is comfortable in an artsy way. Not as funky as the Limestone location. We looked it. My wife had the Hopping John, a staple since 1973, which she liked. I had the red beans and rice, also good. Service was slow, but the waiters were nice. They serve beer now. Location is great. Alfalfa is connected to the Black Box Theater and an art gallery. All part of the Pam Miller Downtown Art Center. The city library is across the street, and the Kentucky Theater is a block away. All convenient for an artsy night out

One of the BEST mostly vegetarian restaurants I have EVER eaten at. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND ALFALFA’S! Shout out to our waitress Theresa she was amazing as well and recommend some incredible food choices! I will be back again!! The Alfalfa Avacado Grill sandwich was incredible and paired with the tomato bisque was insane. My mouth was having a celebration! These two things were my favorites and I sampled a bunch of stuff.

Absolutely loved the atmosphere. Local art is presented on genuine brick walls. It's also connected to a local arts center, which is convenient and interesting. This was my first time having brunch, and it was lovely

Alfalfa's 💞💞 Favorite Restaurant! Local meat, local produce, and one of the most dietary inclusive menus I've seen. Delicious meals no matter the protein!! Specials are always worth a look, but the menu holds its own as well. Brunch is my FAVORITE meal here - their pancakes (griddlecakes) are mouthwatering! While the management has changed around a few times in the past few years, Alfalfa has stayed so true it's origins and all is better than closed!!!!🙌🙌
